Justin Bieber’s net worth has increased every year.

The now 25-year-old broke into the music scene when he was just 15. And since then, he has had a dazzling career that has won him many awards and world records.

The bulk of Justin’s money comes from his three world tours. Yet endorsements with brands such as Calvin Klein also win him nice paychecks every year.

Another source of income for the Canadian is the sale of his records – he has sold 150 million- and the streaming of his music.

Services like Spotify pay the artist $0.00437 every time one of their songs is streamed. All those pennies add up and fatten a bank account. Especially in the case of an artist like Justin Bieber, whose songs can get a billion streams each.

Currently, he has 6 songs that have reached that mark on the platform. That makes him the artist with most 1-billion-streams songs on Spotify. In case you were wondering, that means he has made at least $4,370,000 with each of those songs. And that is only on Spotify. There are other popular streaming services like Apple Music and Amazon.

Another source of income for the crooner is the tour-related merchandise. He sells it through retailers. Originally, he sold it through Barneys and other high-end stores and charged up to $1,600 for a leather jacket. But, eventually, he released a more affordable merch line through Urban Outfitters. All his collections sell quite fast.

And Bieber’s income is not only music-related either. He has stand-alone businesses.

The Canadian has four perfumes. One of them, Someday, made $3 million… in its first 3 weeks on the market. And since January of this year (2019), the singer has his own clothing line, Drew. The first collection of Drew sold out in a day.

Justin Bieber’s money-making world tours

His first world tour, My World, lasted from 2010 to 2011, when Justin was sixteen. It made $53 million, according to Forbes.

His second tour, Believe (2012-2013), grossed almost $70 million.

And the third and last one to date, The Purpose World Tour (2016-2017), banked the considerable sum of $250 million. The 21-year-old began the tour in North America. And before he had given the first of the 64 concerts, most dates were already sold out. The second leg of the tour took him to Europe.

Combining both continents, he played in 140 venues. And in front of 2.7 million people.

The average ticket price for that last tour was $276. But more budget-conscious fans could also grab tickets for $80. While liberal-spending ones could pay $2,000 for VIP seats. Along with the VIP treatment came a meet-and-greet with the artist after the show.

Not all the money earned in the tours goes directly into Justin’s pocket. But Forbes estimates that he personally earns around $1 million per show. That is a really good reason to go on stage. Even supermodel Linda Evangelista would turn into an early riser for that sum. The supermodel infamously spilled in the 90s: “We have this saying, Christy [Turlington] and I… we don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day.”

Justin’s endorsements

Justin endorses Calvin Klein since 2015. Two weeks after the launch of the first campaign in which Justin appeared, Calvin Klein gained 3.6 million followers on their social media accounts. And sales went up by 13% in North America (part of the credit goes to model Kendall Jenner who also posed for a parallel campaign for the brand).

So Calvin Klein has kept Justin as the face of their clothes. And in this year’s campaign, Justin poses along with model wife Hailey Baldwin.

In 2010, when he was 16, he endorsed a nail polish line of the brand OPI, and according to MSN, he was paid $12 million for it. He has also partnered with Proactiv (he earned $3 million), Best Buy, Beats by Dre, and Adidas.

Justin Bieber’s documentaries

There is a trend among singers to film their life behind the scenes during their tours. And with good reason: it sells. Gaga, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Beyonce all have their documentaries. They are released in theaters and/or through other platforms like Netflix.

Justin Bieber has two documentaries. The first one, Never say never, was filmed in August 2010 before his performance at Madison Square Garden in New York. The singer was 16 at the time, and the tickets for the function sold out in 22 minutes. The behind-the-scenes documentary was released the following year. And it made 99 million dollars at the box office.

His second film, Justin Bieber’s Believe, did well, but not nearly as spectacularly as the first. It was released two years later and earned $11 million worldwide (it cost $5 million to make).

Justin’s record-breaking music

Justin’s Sorry has more than 3 billion views, which makes it the 8th video with most views on YouTube.

Justin Bieber has released songs every year since 2009. Most of his songs do great in the charts, and many of them break records. For example, his song Baby became the most viewed video ever on YouTube in 2009.

Nowadays, three of his music videos are among the top 50 most viewed videos on YouTube. His songs Sorry occupies the 8th spot.

And Justin has six videos (Sorry, Baby, What do you mean?, Love yourself, I’m the one, Where are u now) that have over one billion views on YouTube. That made him the artist with most 1-billion views videos for a while. But he was recently surpassed by Puerto Rican singer Ozuna, who has 7 videos that have reached that mark.

This year, 2019, Justin released three collaborations. The first one, I don’t care, created with his friend Ed Sheeran, did great in the charts. It peaked at number one in 26 countries. It broke Spotify’s single-day streaming record with 10.9 million streams during its first day. And it topped the platform’s chart for 6 weeks.

And Justin also released 10,000 Hours with Dan Shay, which was streamed 33.3 million times during its first week.

Justin’s fans call themselves Beliebers. The non-Beliebers usually do not know how well the Canadian has done in the music industry.

He has been nominated for all award competitions under the sun and won several prizes.

Here are some highlights. Justin has won 2 Brit Awards, 1 Grammy, 5 iHeart Radios, and 20 Billboard Music Awards. He has been nominated for several Billboard awards every year since 2011. And has won at least one Billboard Award every year, except for 2017 and 2019. His last won was for his remix of Luis Fonsi’s Despacito. This year he was nominated for his song No Brainer.

And in the awards where the public chooses the winners, Justin tends to win by a landslide. 12 American Music Awards, 20 Teen Choice Awards, 22 MTV Europe Music Awards are his.

He has also broken 14 Guinness World Records, including:
2012 Most Popular Video of Any Kind Online (Baby)
2014 Youngest Solo Artist to Have Five U.S. No. 1 Albums
2015 Youngest male artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100

Justin Bieber’s paycheck

Now that you have an idea of what a money-making award-winning machine Mr. Bieber is, let’s review his annual paycheck. Lately, he earns from 60 to 80 million a year.

According to Forbes, he earned $56 million in 2016 and $83.5 million in 2017. He was on tour the last months of 2016 and all of 2017.

So when he is on tour, he makes, on average, some $5.8 million a month. That is is $194,400 a day or $8,000 every hour. Or $135 every minute. Not bad.

Evolution of Justin’s fortune

When Bieber started out at 15, he earned $500,000. Soon his album Baby became a hit. And the following year, his bank account had gained a zero: he had $5 million.

2010: $500,000
2011: $5 million
2012: $40 million
2013: $100 million
2014: $200 million
2019: $285 million

Justin spends some cash: houses and diamonds

Justin has two houses. One near his hometown in Ontario, Canada, and another one in Beverly Hills, in the U.S.

The Canadian home, which he bought in 2018, is set on 101 acres (40 ha) of land in a quiet and isolated community.

The $5 million house is two stories high. It has a gym, a home theater, horse stables, a race track for horses, and access to a nearby lake. It has a floor space of 836 m2 (9,000 ft2).

The Beverly Hills home had a price tag of $8.5 million. And despite that Justin just bought it this year, it is apparently for sale again. Nevertheless, that is where Justin and his wife Hailey live for the time being. The 566 m2 (6,100 ft2) house has 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and a small garden with a pool.

To propose to Hailey Baldwin last year, he bought a $500.000 diamond ring from jewelers Solow & co. And for the wedding reception of this year, he spent $500,000 more.

As for pets, the singer recently bought a pair of Savannah bread cats for $35,000.

Justin has stated that he is really good at handling money and that, all in all, he does not spend much. And given all that he could be spending, it seems to be true. The million-dollar houses can be considered an investment.

Justin Bieber’s short bio:

Justin was born in London, Ontario, Canada, on March 1, 1994. His parents were both teenagers when they had him and were not married. They separated soon after Justin’s birth. He was raised mostly by his mom, who by her own admission, was at the time a troubled teenager, and by his maternal grandparents. Justin’s mom, Patricia Mallette, struggled to make ends meet.

When Justin was 13, he wanted to go to Disneyland, so he started singing in the streets for money. He earned $3,000 and took his mom on their first vacations ever.

Around the same time, the future pop star entered a local talent contest. And his mom Patricia recorded his performance. Then she posted it online so Justin’s relatives could share in the joy and pride of seeing their little one sing.

Afterwards, Patricia and Justin uploaded other home videos of Justin singing.

Elsewhere in North America, talent manager Scooter Braun was perusing YouTube. He was looking for the clips of another artist when he stumbled upon Bieber’s homemade videos.

He contacted Justin and became his manager. A few months afterwards, Usher’s‘ signed the 13-year-old. And Justin’s meteoric career began. His very first song was a hit.

The Canadian street-singer is now married to Hailey Baldwin, a 22-year-old model. The couple have been friends for 10 years. They tied the knot in September 2018 in a New York courthouse. And then had a religious ceremony in September 2019 in South Carolina.
